A staff report on the Stratford City Council agenda Tuesday night identifies several properties around the city that could be used for affordable and attainable housing.
Building and planning, along with investStratford, have identified 161 East Gore Street and 38 Coriano Street as municipal land available for redevelopment.
An existing structure at 246 Railway Avenue could also be repurposed.
A preliminary report notes the possibility of up to 18 housing units on East Gore Street and a dozen on Coriano Street while the Railway Avenue property could accommodate two bachelor or one bedroom units, or a two bedroom unit, after being repurposed.
It is being recommended that council consider developing a request for expressions of interest with housing developers for East Gore and Coriano Streets and issue a request for proposal to create two new affordable housing units at the Railway Avenue property.
The full city council agenda is available on the City of Stratford website. The meeting is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
