The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board has announced Mary Ellen Van Loon as chair of the board for a fifth consecutive term.
Van Loon was acclaimed to the position, which covers 2024-2025, at the board’s annual meeting on Monday.
She serves Catholic schools in Perth South, St. Marys, and West Perth.
Van Loon thanked the board of trustees, as they look towards implementing a new strategic plan, noting in a media release that it is a time of great excitement and anticipation for the board.
Also at the annual board meeting, Tina Doherty was acclaimed vice-chair of the board. Doherty began her time with the board as a trustee in 2014, and has previously served as vice-chair.
Doherty represents Stratford and serves schools in the city.
