It’s an opportunity to challenge your way of thinking at two Provocation Ideas Festival events in Stratford on Saturday.
Start the learning with Reimagining Stratford: Designing the Future City.
It’s a community-based exploration of citizen-powered urban development.
The event will address current and future needs of the city, which include topics that include housing, transportation and economic development and will take place from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Stratford Public Library.
Speakers in attendance include Franklin Famme, event moderator, partner at Famme & Co., and member of the Grand Trunk Renewal Project.
It will also see regional speakers like Vicki Lass, director of economic development for Huron County and Allan Rothwell, councillor for North Perth.
Continue the day by attending Storied Stratford at 7 p.m. at the Nancy Campbell Academy Auditorium.
The event will consist of live readings by local actors and authors, and will “bring to life” short stories, plays, vignettes and historical accounts inspired by the city and surrounding area.
It “promises to shed a new light on the identity of Stratford and its rich cultural legacy”.
Presenters include actors Sheila McCarthy and Graham Abbey, and playwright Kelly McIntosh.
