Perth/Huron community street crime unit helps take $281K in drugs off the streets

Several police services, including the Perth/Huron community street crime unit, haveĀ  worked together to take a major haul of drugs off the streets in parts of southwestern Ontario.

Project NAPOLI resulted in the arrest of seven individuals for a combined 18 offences.

Drugs seized have a street value of $281,000, police said.

Police executed 10 search warrants on Nov. 21 in Kitchener, Woodstock and Oxford County.

The project started due to drug trafficking in Oxford County, Brant County, Elgin County,Ā  Norfolk County, Woodstock, London and Waterloo.

Police seized 1.6 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, 2,500Ā  alprazolam tablets, $20,000 in Canadian currency, cell phones and scales.

The people arrested range in age from 28 to 56, and live in Kitchener, London, Woodstock and Norwich Township.
