Thousands raised through Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign in Stratford

The Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign in Stratford was a delicious success.

United Way Perth-Huron said the community raised almost $12,500 to support the organization’s work with mental health and well-being.

Ryan Erb, executive director for United Way Huron-Perth, expressed gratitude for the significant donation raised by the community.

“We’re certainly thankful that $12,499.45, I might add, is coming to us, so it’s fantastic,” said Erb.

Stratford Tim Hortons raised $24,999 from the campaign, split 50/50 between United Way Perth-Huron and Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.

United Way thanked volunteers who aided in decorating cookies, as well as the the local franchise owners and staff.

Last year, more than 8,600 people received mental health support through local United Way partners, which include 211, the Emily Murphy Centre, Shelterlink Youth Services, and many more.

A cheque presentation from the Milverton Tim Hortons campaign was set to take place this morning, but has since been rescheduled to a later date due to poor weather conditions.
