Partners in Employment is finishing off a busy year aiding people in gaining employment.
Deb Hotchkiss, executive director for Partners in Employment in Perth and Huron Counties, explains that there have been “lots of changes in the employment world” the past couple of years.
She also explains that the organization has recently received special funding to help those on the Ontario Disability Support Program, or ODSP, find jobs that suit their needs.
This funding will “help to get them back into the workforce” and helps to subsidize the costs associated with getting a new job, such as training, transportation, or uniforms and work boots.
“We have a significant amount of money available until March 31, so if there is anyone receiving ODSP that would like to re-enter the workforce, we’d be glad to help them,” said Hotchkiss.
Hotchkiss explains that the workforce has evolved and is now more accommodating.
“The workforce has not always been welcoming, and now with unemployment rate the way it is and so low, it’s a very different world and we want to help people enhance their quality of life.”
