It’s almost time to get your soup on with the Alzheimer Society of Huron Perth.
Its annual Soup’s On fundraiser is Jan. 11 at Stratford Rotary Complex.
Erin Dale, Manager of Fund Development & Communications for Alzheimer Society Huron Perth, said the event has hit a significant milestone.Â
“It is super exciting this year because it is our 30th anniversary.”
To honour the occasion, James Hutton, previously a resident of Listowel, is matching each donation up to $30,000, in memory of his parents.
The event is B.Y.O.S (bring your own spoon) and it will feature a variety of soups from local vendors, a silent auction, a kids’ corner and live music.
Dale explains that the money raised makes a difference right here in the community.
“And any of the funds that are raised they do stay local, so we always want people to realize that what they are doing are supporting their own community by their coming out and supporting the event.”
Dale expects up to 2,000 guests.
This family-friendly event is admission by donation and Soupons, the official currency of Soup’s On, are 5 for $5.
It runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
