Wine enthusiasts love supporting a good cause.
The Rotary Club of Festival City Stratford is gearing up for its popular Wine Survivor Live Elimination Party, all set for Feb. 7.
Bev Hepburn from Rotary Club of Festival City Stratford, explained that the event is a fundraiser for Stratford General Hospital Foundation, and last year it brought in $10,000.
“We’re trying to do everything we can to make as much money (for) the hospital as possible.”
This live elimination draw sees 200 tickets sold. Each ticket is then drawn randomly to eliminate guests, until only one is left standing.
There is a prize of 10 bottles of wine for the first ticket drawn, then the 50th, 100th and 150th ticket drawn.
The last few tickets standing receive between 10 to 30 bottles of wine.
The grand prize is 50 bottles.
“It’s a lot of fun for a great cause,” said Hepburn.
There will be live entertainment, wine tasting, cheese boards and snacks.
It starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Army Navy & Air Force Veterans Hall on Lorne Avenue.
Tickets are $50 for one person, plus guest and can be purchased on Eventbrite or by contacting a member of the club.
