OPP West Region laid 292 impaired driving charges during the Festive RIDE campaign.
Police from 13 detachments conducted 1,938 RIDE checks from Nov. 21 until New Year’s Day.
Another 19 drivers were given warn-range suspensions.
There were 11 impaired driving charges laid in Perth County during the campaign, the exact same as last year.
Two drivers were given warn-range suspensions in Perth County.
Last year, officers laid 353 impaired charges and 55 warn-range suspensions following 2,446 RIDE checks.
The Festive RIDE campaign is an annual police enforcement and education initiative aimed at taking impaired drivers off Ontario roads during the holiday season.
