Get outside, enjoy some activity, meet some people at Stratford Winterfest

It’s a chance to get outdoors, stretch the legs and enjoy an afternoon of free family events.

Stratford Winterfest returns the last Saturday of January at Upper Queens Park.

This year’s theme is Come Play At The Park and MJ Thomson from the organizing committee encourages everyone to embrace the great outdoors.

“We love this event because it really does incorporate all the best things about winter,” Thomson told MyStratfordNow. “The things that most people avoid: Getting outside, getting some activity. Meeting with people in the community and having some fun while you do it.”

Activities are always interesting and family oriented.

New this year is Zoltan the Adequate show, and maple taffy on ice. The Great Canadian Lumberjack Show returns after a hiatus.

Avon Co-op Nursery School is providing face painting. There is also a petting zoo and snowshoeing.

“It really is a community event.”

Food trucks will also be out to feed guests. Events run Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The full itinerary is available here.
