Police warn of thin ice

With warmer temperatures and rain today and tomorrow, the OPP is warning people that rivers and lakes that were frozen last week may now be unsafe.

Police are urging parents to be diligent and monitor children around these areas.

They should also talk to their kids about the dangers of playing around water and thin ice.

As the snow and ice melt, there is also potential for flooding.

Keep vehicles, pets and people away from any areas of open water.
