Nothing can stop Ian Morton.
Not even cancer.
Running as the Green Party of Ontario’s candidate for MPP of Perth-Wellington, the cancer survivor and veteran teacher brings 25 years of educational experience to the table.
“Collaborating, listening, you know, solving problems together, that kind of thing, which I think, even though the classroom is a much smaller example, I think lends itself really well to what an MPP, a representative of the people should be.”
He’s fighting for no more closed emergency rooms, no more doctor-less families and more significant investments in healthcare.
And he wants the community of Perth-Wellington to feel heard and their problems taken seriously at Queen’s Park.
“I don’t know that we have had that attentive listening in the past. I don’t feel that our current representation is really listening to the problems and the concerns of the people of Perth-Wellington.”
Morton explains that it’s hard to trust the traditional parties today and that it is time for change and for Ontarians to demand better.
“I’m really hoping that voters see with the Green party, and with how amazing their plan is that puts people first. That’s what I’m all about, that’s what the Green party is all about, and I’m hoping that people have the courage to vote for change.”
Election day in Ontario is Feb. 27.
