Two-time Canadian Women’s National team MVP Amanda Asay and Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista are among new inductees to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
The hall of fame, located in St. Marys, announced the class of 2025 this week.
Also included are Baltimore Orioles pitcher Érik Bédard; Greg Hamilton, who held leadership positions with Baseball Canada for more than 30 years; Arlene Noga, nicknamed the ‘Iron Lady’ after playing more than 300 consecutive games in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, and Gerry Snyder, who played a big part in bringing Major League baseball to Montreal.
“We are proud and excited to celebrate the outstanding careers of this year’s inductees in St. Marys this June,” said Jeremy Diamond, chair of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame’s board of directors. “Each of them, in their own distinct way, has had a tremendous impact on the game of baseball in our country.”
Asay, Noga and Snyder will be enshrined posthumously.
The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame’s 2025 class will be honoured during a ceremony at the hall of fame grounds on June 7.
