Conestoga College expanding space, programs in Festival City

Conestoga College is expanding in the Festival City.

The school, with a Stratford campus currently at 130 Youngs Street, have announced expansion to a modern, renovated 22,700 sq. ft. space at 60 Erie Street.

They are also expanding programs being offered.

Programs will “bridge the skills gap, equipping learners with the knowledge required for success” in their respective fields.

Tanya Kell, Dean of Community Services Access & Continuing Education, spoke about the need in the community for skilled workers.

“Many of these programs are really aligned with the needs in the labour market.”

Programs offered at the new location include business and marketing, event management, health office administration, general arts and sciences, media foundations, office administration, payroll and book keeping and a personal support worker program.

She highlighted the need for its early childhood education program as well as an ECE shortage in the labour market.

“So we’re hoping to help fill that need and support our communities.”

The new space, opening in September, will allow practical training and hands-on experiences.

The college will host a “sneak peek” into the expansion at their Stratford Conestoga College Open House on March 1, starting at 2 p.m. in the city hall auditorium.

At the event, you can learn more about student services, meet with faculty, get educated about programs and see renderings of the new location.

Registration for the open house is free.
