Learn more about the Canadian women making a difference in baseball

Celebrate female excellence in baseball with an upcoming virtual event hosted by the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, in St. Marys.

On March 6, the hall of fame in partnership with Rawlings Canada are hosting a Canadian Women in Baseball Panel.

There are six speakers, all Canadian women making their careers in baseball, on the field or behind the scenes.

Lindsay Earle, Care of Collections and Visitor Engagement Supervisor at Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum said the event was inspired by International Women’s Day and talks with other industry professionals about the impact of women in baseball.
“We were just chatting about how many amazing women and Canadian women who are working in baseball in so many different parts of the game and we wanted to celebrate that and the timing with international women’s day just worked really well.”

Speakers include Alli Schroder, a current player who began playing for Team Canada in 2017, Andrea Goldstein, VP of Communications for the Toronto Blue Jays, and Lisa Turbitt, one of the most decorated Canadian umpires working today.

Other special guests include Ellen Harrigan, VP of Baseball Administration for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ashley Stephenson, one of the first members of the first Canadian Women’s National Team, and Claudette Scrafford, a hall of fame as manuscript archivist.

At the end of the panel, Rawlings Canada will draw for a brand-new baseball glove to gift to a member of the audience.
The virtual Zoom event starts at 7 p.m.
