Today is election day: Here’s what you need to know about voting in Stratford

Today is election day in Ontario.

There are many locations across the Perth-Wellington riding to go and vote and you can visit the Elections Ontario website, input your postal code to learn where your designated polling station is.

In the City of Stratford, there are seven places to cast a ballot which include the Stratford Rotary Complex, the Burnside Agriplex, Stratford’s University of Waterloo campus, Stratford Legion Branch 8, Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans Unit 261, Knights of Columbus Hall and the Quality Inn.

Voting starts at 9 a.m.

There are seven candidates running for MPP of Perth-Wellington.

These include Conservative’s Matthew Rae, NDP’s Jason Davis, Liberal’s Ashley Fox, Green’s Ian Morton, New Blue Party’s James Montgomery, Ontario Party’s Sarah Zenuh and Freedom Party’s Rob Smink.

To vote, you must be 18 years or older, a citizen of Canada and a resident in Ontario.

Be sure to bring your voter information card and a piece of ID with your name on it to your polling station.

If you did not receive an information card, you are still eligible to vote and will need to bring a piece of government issued identification with your name and address on it.

Polls close at 9 p.m.
