Perth East resident charged after sexual assault investigation

An individual from Perth East has been arrested and charged after a sexual assault investigation.

On Monday (Feb. 24), Perth OPP launched an investigation after receiving information surrounding sexual misconduct in Sebringville.

The investigation was assisted by the Perth County Crime Unit.

The investigated incidents occurred over the span of a month.

As a result, a 62-year-old has been arrested and charged with sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, sexual interference and luring a person under 16 years of age.

The accused was held for bail and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford yesterday (Feb. 26).

Police remind the public that there are no time limitations on sexual offences and a report can be made to police at any time, regardless of how much time has passed.
