Emily Murphy Centre fundraiser to feature improv, live music

It’s a little improv and a little music.

And a big fundraiser for Emily Murphy Centre.

Kevin Kruchkywich and Rebecca Northan are bringing their comedic skills and vocal/guitar duo, The GoodLotus, will offer some inspiring live music.

Lisa Wilde, executive director at Emily Murphy Centre, said the March 8 event at the Best Western Plus The Arden Park Hotel will feature premier talent.

“What a great time to get out, get away from the winter blah’s and just have some fun.”

Kruchkywich and Northan have performed various improv shows around the city and have acquired some fans along the way.

The comedic duo started working together in the late 1990’s. He has classical theatre experience at the Stratford Festival.

Northan developed Goblin:Oedipus, appearing at the Meighen Forum this season.

Evangelia Kambites And Eric Lundgren make up Stratford-based GoodLotus, known for blending jazz, classical, pop and folk.

“We are so happy that these folks decided this was something they would like to do on a March evening,” said Wilde.

Emily Murphy Centre is celebrating 35 years of service to Perth County.

The centre provides second stage housing and a ‘safe alternative to living with violence, allowing women to work co-operatively toward independence and freedom’.

Wilde said the centre and staff are always available to women and children who need them, whether residential or outreach, or whatever they can do to make folks safe.

Doors open at 7 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $45 and available at Ticketscene.
