The Local Community Food Centre highlighting international cuisine for the month of March

Enjoy the tastes of the world right here in Stratford.

The Local Community Food Centre is hosting Multicultural March, a month-long campaign that sees a different country highlighted during its weekly community meals.

Julie Docker-Johnson, Community Connector for The Local Community Food Centre, explained that you don’t have to travel far to get international cuisine.

“We’re going to have the flavours of the world that we can find right here in Stratford because these people are a huge part of our community.”

Some local residents have also met with chefs and discussed foods that come from their home countries that they want to share with the community.

They have a passport program for Multicultural March, so when you attend a meal, you get a stamp from the country that is being spotlighted.

Collect four or more stamps for a chance to win a grocery gift card to The Local’s twice-weekly access markets.

The community meals are Mondays from 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Fridays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
