United Way Perth-Huron’s fundraising campaign hits the stretch run

With March well-underway, United Way Perth-Huron is getting close to the end of its 2024-2025 fundraising campaign.

The campaign, which started last September, has a target of $2.62 million.

Ryan Erb, Executive Director for United Way Perth-Huron, looked back on a recent fundraising day, Coldest Night of the Year, and explained that the record-breaking day  surpassed its $200,000 goal.

“But it’s such a beautiful community event, so many people coming together, and really standing together for people in our community, who have really no voice in this conversation. And so we need to be there, we need to say, It’s not okay, homelessness is not okay, we need to change the situation.”

And with the financial thermometer currently sitting at almost $2.3 million, Erb hopes the final stretch will see last-minute donations.

To celebrate the end of the campaign, the Spirit of Community Celebration will be held at the Arden Park Hotel in Stratford on March 27.

Erb says it gives guests a glimpse into the people whose lives have been impacted from United Way partners, and what organizations do.

“We get to hear directly from clients helped in the community and supported partners and organizations that are providing that support.”

The celebration’s theme is A Mosaic of Belonging.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and tickets must be purchased in advance.

To purchase a ticket, visit the United Way Perth-Huron’s website.
