United Way Perth-Huron is working with social service and economic development partners on a strategy to address food insecurity, mental health and well-being and support for workers through its Urgent Needs Fund.
The organization said the country is facing instability due to the ongoing threat of tariffs, rising inflation and the job loss potential, challenges reflected in communities in Huron and Perth counties.
Executive director Ryan Erb said the United Way has a history of addressing pressing issues in the region and details of the plans to help again will be announced in the near future.
Meanwhile, United Way’s current fundraising campaign ends in three weeks, sits around 80 per cent towards the goal. Erb said donations support those already facing challenges, as well as those who will need help moving forward.
Erb says community generosity helps United Way provide vital resources in a time when our community needs it most.
