It’s an opportunity to discuss the theme of Peaceful Horizons Through Adaptive Action.
That’s the theme of the Rotary Club of Stratford district conference, scheduled for May 2-4 at Best Western Plus The Arden Park Hotel.
Conference chair Katherine Hahn said her experience as past president in Stratford and her current role as district governor has allowed her to meet people from all walks of life who serve their communities.
“I hope that people will walk away feeling uplifted. You know, we’ve had some tough months in the last little while and I think that this feeling of camaraderie and fellowship will give people the boost that I think we all need.”
Guest speakers include author David Scott Smith, social media sensation Brittlestar and Olympic medalist Curt Harnett.
Rotary District 6330 serves large parts of Ontario and Michigan, and includes 56 Rotary Clubs and several Rotaract Clubs, with nearly 1,600 members.
Hahn said the tension between Canada and the U.S, has altered the approach to the conference, with a natural transition to peace at the forefront, a core value of the Rotary club.
Rotary is apolitical and non-denominational, which Hahn says is one its greatest strengths, allowing them to go to places in the world that might otherwise be closed.Â
“This is about our friendship and our fellowships together, and how as individuals we can make the world a better place, one Rotarian at a time.”
Entertainment from Downie Street Collective and hypnotist Dale K is scheduled.
Rotarians, their families, and the public are welcome to attend.
Registration deadline is April 17.
