Learning centre opens downtown Stratford branch

Sylvan Learning has opened up a Stratford satellite branch.

The learning centres provide tutoring services and personalized learning for students.

It will offer tutoring services from Kindergarten up to Grade 9, and they are working on adding homework support in Stratford, which depends on teacher availability.

Kristen Brekelmans from Sylvan Learning said a number of families were commuting to find a centre, so it made sense to set up shop here.

“We want to bring all of that programming and all of that great stuff to Stratford.”

Brekelmans said the company are seeing a lot of learning loss since COVID, and a lot of kids are struggling.

She said while “teachers are doing an amazing job”, sometimes kids just “need a little bit of extra support outside of school.”

Assessments are free and parents and caregivers are kept in the loop, with regular, daily, and weekly updates.

“We want you to be an active part of your child’s education.”
