Finding ‘commonality’ for nearly a century at Rural Urban Dinner

It’s a celebration of almost 100 years of friendship, camaraderie and fellowship.

The Rotary Club of Stratford are set to host the Rural Urban Dinner

The March 27 event has run since 1927.

Rotarian Murray Scholl said it brings out a nice mix of people.

“It’s a combination of urban folk and rural folk, just to combine together and get some commonality.”

Guest speaker is playwright Dan Needles, discussing that Even a Chicken Benefits from Rotary’s 4-Way Test.

A social hour precludes the locally sourced buffet, with live music.

Known as a highlight of the Rotary year, the event will also have door prizes and draws.

“It’s a way of getting together learning more about each other, particularly with agriculture,” said Scholl.

Stratford Perth Museum’s 2025 Agricultural Wall of Fame Inductees, Kirk Rankin and Carl Schade, are set to be honoured.

It starts at 6 p.m. at the Rotary Complex in Stratford.

Tickets are $50 and must be purchased prior to the event online at rotarystratford.com.
