Stratford police officer receives King Charles III Coronation Medal

A local police officer is the recipient of another King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae presented the award on Wednesday (March 27) to a respected officer in the City of Stratford, Sgt. Matthew Peck, who has served with the Stratford Police Service for 22 years.

Peck said he is grateful to have received the medal and “that becoming involved in your community through volunteer work can be such a rewarding experience.”

The sergeant expressed that volunteering “can be good for one’s perspective” and “it does not always take a lot of time or effort, and even small amounts can make a difference.”

Peck’s accomplishments include volunteering with Stratford Minor Hockey and Minor Soccer, being member of the Board of Directors for the Emily Murphy Centre and has spearheaded numerous initiatives to lead the way for younger police officers to get involved with the community.
