Stratford’s Little Prince Cinema receives big praise

Little Prince Cinema has earned another international accolade.

The Guinness World Record holder for smallest purpose built cinema, the Stratford business was recently ranked the 16th most beautiful cinema in the world by Time Out, an international online publication.

The cinema was built by founder and artist Leigh Cooney.

Cooney said the ranking is an honour considering the standards and “epic sizes” of other competing theatres across the globe.

The cinema has only a dozen seats.

Cooney appreciates recognition of his artistry.

“I like dreaming an idea up and the sort of seeing it come to life, I would’ve done that anyway no matter where I was or what business I was in, if I had that opportunity to do that I would.”

The avid movie-lover is putting the finishing touches on his second Little Prince location in Cambridge’s Gaslight District.
