Police seeking public help after cyclist hit by vehicle

Police are seeking public help after a cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries.

Oxford OPP responded to a fail to remain collision on Blandford Street in Innkerip, after a cyclist was struck by a vehicle on April 17.

The cyclist was transported to a local hospital.

A 60-year-old Woodstock man is charged with fail to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm.

If you have information, observed the collision, or have dashcam footage and/or video surveillance footage, OPP ask that you contact them at 1-888-310-1122.

Police said the timeframe of 10:40 p.m. until 10:48 p.m. is of particular interest, and they are asking all residents on Blandford Street in Innerkip to review any security camera footage that may have captured vehicular traffic on the roadway during that time frame.

Police remind motorists that if you are involved in a motor vehicle collision on a highway or roadway in Ontario, it is your responsibility as the driver to remain at or immediately return to the scene of the collision, render assistance and exchange information in relation to the driver’s identity, vehicle and insurance information.

Police must be notified of collision if the combined damage to all vehicles exceeds $5,000 or there are injuries or there is damage to property.
