‘Time to get serious’: Liberal MP candidate challenges everyone to vote

Liberal MP candidate David Mackey was raised with farmer’s values – hard work and giving back to community.

He said it’s time for “leadership you can trust”, and believes the Liberal party can do that for Perth-Wellington.

The Stratford resident has worked in high-tech management, learning and honing skills he believes make him the ideal candidate for the riding.

Mackey discussed the trade war and needing strong leadership to weather the storm of U.S. tariffs.

“Canada didn’t start the trade war, but we know how to look after ourselves, with elbows up.”

Mackey said bold steps are needed to address affordability and homelessness.

He said Prime Minister Mark Carney and the Liberal party have taken steps to address the cost of living, introducing affordable child care, dental care, and pharmacare.

Mackey said the federal government needs to balance revenue from taxes and government costs with social support programs and infrastructure investments to drive economic growth.

“We need to protect and increase growth for local farms and manufacturing businesses, so that we receive even more tax income,” said Mackey.

Mackey says it’s “time to get serious”.

“The most important thing that a voter in Perth Wellington needs to understand is that a vote for me is a vote for Mark Carney. And a vote for John is a vote for Pierre Poilievre. It’s as simple as that.”

And he challenges everyone to use their “superpower”, by getting out and voting.
