The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating after a 30-year-old man was fatally shot by officers at Toronto Pearson Airport earlier this morning.
The SIU says shortly before 7 a.m., Peel Regional Police officers were investigating a man in distress in an SUV at Terminal 1 departures.
The police watchdog says officers then located the man, and early information received shows he produced a gun…. with three officers then firing their firearm at him.
He was taken to hospital and was pronounced dead. No officers were injured and there is no known threat to the public.
The SIU is asking anyone with information to contact them.
