SGH Foundation’s In Our Hands Capital Campaign surpasses $30 million goal

Mission accomplished.

Stratford General Hospital Foundation’s In Our Hands Capital Campaign has surpassed its $30 million goal.

The campaign has raised more than $31.42 million in cash and pledges that will support the creation of a new cancer and medical care clinic, with a co-located pharmacy, and go towards purchasing essential medical equipment and investments in staff training.

Executive Director of the Stratford General Hospital Foundation, Cheryl Hunt, said the campaign was launched with a vision to the future, with the latest tools, technologies, and spaces “available right here at home.”

“Our community has been extraordinary,” Hunt said in an interview with MyStratfordNow. “They are so generous and supportive. It is just outstanding what they have done for our hospital, that is for sure.”

Community support is essential because provincial funding doesn’t cover cost of new and replacement medical equipment, infrastructure upgrades, or innovations that enhance patient care, the foundation said on Tuesday.

President and CEO of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance, Andrew Williams, said investments are already making a tangible difference.

“From state-of-the-art equipment to thoughtfully designed spaces, this campaign has enhanced access and helped us continue to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate care.”

More than 27,000 gifts were made by over 7,500 donors.
