Big crowds, lots of smiles, at McHappy Day in the Festival City

There was no shortage of hungry patrons and happy customers at the Ontario Street McDonald’s on Thursday.

May 8 is McHappy Day across Canada, and guests in the Festival City stopped in to show support by purchasing food, special socks or hearts, or rounding up their order.

Manager Corrie Hart was busy thanking customers, including a big group from Cleaver-Brooks (pictured below), who have stopped in on McHappy Day to volunteer for several decades.

“McHappy Day is our biggest day of the year for sales,” Hart told MyStratfordNow.

“Ten per cent of all our sales go directly to that. The people that come out and support, the guests that come in, are so greatly appreciated. Everyone is so generous with their time and with their money.”

Hart said the goal for this year is $15,000. Proceeds across the nation go to Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provide support and resources to families so they can focus on caring for their seriously ill child.

Local proceeds go to London area RMHC.
