It’s the big social event of the year.
St. James Anglican Church Variety Sale is May 29 and 30th, however, the church are now accepting donations Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. until noon.
Karen Haslam, of St. James, said the fundraiser was moved from its traditional late-April date due to the federal election and a later Easter.
The community can help in more ways than one.
“This year we are welcoming donations to the sale and donations of help.”
Haslam said the extra hands can help sort items that are placed on tables. While the church appreciates the donations, they are not asking for large appliances or furniture.
Money raised stays in community for local causes.
“It’s not about the money for the church it’s about where the money goes.”
