Details announced for BIA’s Dog Days of Summer

Downtown Stratford BIA announced details Wednesday for their ‘Dog Friendly Downtown’, initiative, starting with a Dog Days of Summer event on June 5 at Market Square.

Described as “paws-itively fun”, it includes an Olympic Games event, and a dog show with prizes for best trick, best dressed, waggiest tail and the dog that looks most like its owner.

Prizes for winning pooches will be handed out later in the day. The first 50 dogs to arrive will receive a custom bandana with glow in the dark trim.

BIA GM Jamie Pritchard said the city’s downtown continues to be a welcome location for dogs, with owners knowing they are welcome into many shops and patios with their fur babies.

A list of dog-friendly businesses is posted to the BIA website.
