Bottle drive Saturday for Rotaract Club of Stratford

Those empties that may be sitting around the house or garage can go to a good cause this weekend.

Rotaract Club of Stratford are hosting holding a bottle drive Saturday at 7 Orr Street from 9 a.m. until noon.

Sarah Merkel said local club members will do all the work for you once you arrive.

“We will be happily greeting you on the driveway. We will take all of your things out of your car, we will get them organized for you, we will count your cans.”

You can also drop empties off afterwards at the side of the house or later in the week.

Any alcohol container will be accepted.

Rotaract Club of Stratford has a number of initiatives in the community including a trivia night on the second Wednesday of the month at Jobsite Brewing Co.

“Each month the proceeds go to different local organizations.”

The club is always looking for new members and you can volunteer for as little as one hour per month. Merkel said it’s a good way to give back to the community and meet new people.

You can reach out to the Rotaract Club through their social media pages.
