Train traffic stopped after vehicle collides with railway bridge

Train traffic was stopped after a vehicle collided with a Goderich-Exeter railway bridge on Wednesday on Perth Road 145, south of Perth Line 34, in West Perth.

The bridge sustained damages that require trains to be stopped until repairs are complete.

Perth Line 145 will be closed between Perth Line 34 and Perth Line 32 for one week.

Police provided no estimated time for when the stop-train will be lifted and bridge reopened.

A 47-year-old, male resident of Stratford is charged with careless driving, under the Highway Traffic Act.
