A psychedelic Friday the 13th on tap at Gallery Stratford

It promises to be a psychedelic night at Gallery Stratford.

The local art gallery is hosting a musical collaboration concert on Friday the 13th.

Talent will include Underground Mountains from Stratford, described as heavy psych explorers, Heir Loom from Waterloo, providing ‘dreamy folk’ from dreamy folks’ and Sarnia-based Jacob Barber Band, who are equal parts, garage, pop and psych.

Robert Windrum, Director/Curator at Gallery Stratford, said music programs have run in the past and the gallery often look for collaborations.

With the gallery closed for summer instillation, the event is being held in the community studio space.

Everything will open back up on June 22 for the opening summer exhibition, a fundraiser strawberry social.

“We are trying to sort of harken back a little bit to the days of the garden party opening of  our summer exhibitions.”

Entitled, “And yet…here we are: Permanent Collection/Constant Change’, the summer exhibition includes three parallel narratives including a history of the gallery through  archival photos, selections from the permanent collection, and silent headsets with music  from various decades.

You can find tickets through the art gallery’s Instagram page.
