Clinton Public Hospital emergency room closed part of the weekend

The emergency department at Clinton Public Hospital will be closed part of the weekend.

Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance said the emergency department will close at 8 p.m. Friday night and reopen with regular hours ( 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. ) on Sunday morning at 8 a.m.

HPPH said health human resource shortages are the reason.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1.

Paramedics will remain available to the community and will re-route to the nearest available emergency department to ensure local residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need.

The closest 24-hour emergency departments are in Seaforth, Goderich and Exeter.
