Rain warning in effect for Stratford, parts of Perth County

Rainfall Warning in effect for:

  • Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County

Heavy rain is expected. Slow moving thunderstorms along a warm front are producing extended periods of heavy rain.

What: Local rainfall amounts up to 80 mm.

When: This afternoon.

Where: The warm front is along a line from Bayfield to Millbank.

Additional information: RADAR derived rainfall estimates 60 mm has fallen in the area. For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources office.

Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Avoid driving through water on roads. Even shallow, fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle or a person away.
