Mailboxes destroyed in Oxford County

Someone’s smashing rural mailboxes in Oxford County.

The OPP is investigating an incident that occurred last weekend at the East Oxford Public School, located on Old Stage Road.

The mailbox was discovered damaged by school staff on Sunday morning.

The OPP suspects this new incident may be connected to six other destroyed mailboxes that were reported in the same area in early December.

The previous six mailboxes were smashed in while the most recent incident involved chemicals mixed together to cause a plastic bottle to explode inside the mailbox, leaving the front and rear of the mailbox damaged.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
