Lots to see and do in Stratford for Canada Day

Stratford is the place to be for Canada Day.

Market Square will be the setting for the city’s festivities which run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You’ll find everything from interactive activities for kids and toddlers put on by the Stratford Public Library to interactive history lessons presented by the Stratford Perth Museum.

The annual Canada Day Parade is being put on by the Stratford and District Saddle Club and Bethel Pentecostal Church.

It takes place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and it begins at the corner of Lakeside Drive and Waterloo Street before moving move northeast from Waterloo Street to Mornington Street and heading west on McCarthy Road West.

The parade comes to an end at the Stratford Rotary Complex.

There will be road closures in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. with Wellington Street closed from St. Patrick Street to Downie Street, Downie Street closed from Albert Street to George Street West and Market Place closed from Wellington Street to Downie Street.

The day will culminate in fireworks at dusk.
