New artistic director announced for Stratford Concert Choir

Alexander Cann is the new artistic director at the Stratford Concert Choir.

The organization made the announcement over the weekend, noting the Toronto native  brings a wealth of experience and love of music, covering a range of styles and history.

Cann is known for his “extraordinary musicality and is an accomplished and multifaceted  music leader as a choral conductor, pianist, and teacher.”

Since 2010, Cann served as Artistic Director of Hamilton’s Bach Elgar Choir.

The local choir said they are “excited to work with him to bring a great musical variety, some familiar, some older, some new works, and together looking forward to exploring more by Canadian composers.”
