The former general manager and coach of the Stratford Fighting Irish has entered into a peace bond, according to documents provided by Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
Jamie Petrie, 54, resigned from the team, formerly part of the Ontario Super Hockey League, which he co-founded, shortly after being charged with assault last December.
Police responded that night to an incident at the Jefferson Elora Community Centre after a senior men’s hockey game between the Irish and Elora Rocks.
The Rocks said after the incident that the person impacted was okay.
The assault charge has been dropped.
Petrie’s peace bond is for a duration of 12 months and he must keep the peace and be of good behaviour, not communicate with the person listed on the peace bond and not go within 50 metres of, or attend, their residence.
There is also a weapons ban.
