Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae announced Tuesday that Stratford’s Huron Street/Highway 8 reconstruction project will get $3 million in funding from the province.
The project covers from Matilda Street to John Street in the west part of the city.
Rae said building new roads is essential to connecting rural communities and vital pieces of infrastructure for commuters, healthcare services providers, and to get goods to domestic and international markets.
Funding is through the Ontario government’s Connecting Links program, which helps maintain roads and bridges that connect communities.
The province is investing $45 million for 29 projects to repair roads and bridges in 27 municipalities this year.
