Furniture auction underway at Stratford General Hospital

Volunteers at Stratford General Hospital are running a furniture auction that started today and runs until Sunday.

They are hoping to raise $5,000 towards the hospital’s ‘It’s In Our Hands Campaign’.

Officially called ‘The Volunteers of Stratford General Hospital’, the group has committed to raising more than $1 million to support the campaign, and so far they’ve raised half that total, including $150,000 for a CT scanner, and $150,000 for hospital beds.

The auction and donors help purchase life saving equipment, the group said, because the provincial government does not provide funding for equipment or hospital furniture.

You can donate items and bid on others at the 32 Auctions website.

Tax receipts will be issued for all cash donations of $20 or more.
