Stratford police said a 13-year-old female from Hamilton drowned over the weekend at Wildwood Conservation Area in Perth South.
Police and St. Marys firefighters arrived at 7 p.m. Sunday and after an hour-long search found the female underwater in a designated swimming area near the beach.
Life saving efforts were unsuccessful. The female was visiting the conservation area with family.
Stratford police thanked everyone present last evening for assisting with search and recovery and expressed condolences to family, friends, and loved ones.
