Humane Society gets $100K for fundraising program

Helping out the community will be a little less ‘ruff’ thanks to a big donation.

The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth announced it has received $100,000 from Elmira Pet Products for its Better Together Capital Campaign.

The campaign aims to expand the society’s capacity to meet increasing community needs by building a new community outreach centre.

This would include a new space for the Pet Pantry program and other services, improved medical and surgical care, and education programs.

The society says the donation not only gets the campaign closer to its $6 million fundraising goal, but also gives the organization naming rights to a new donation intake place to support those living in the Waterloo region.

“As part of this partnership, the dedicated donation intake area within HSKWSP’s new Community Outreach Centre will be named The Elmira Pet Products Donation Centre,” said the Humane society.

“This hub will serve as the main point of entry for all future in-kind donations from the community for the Pet Pantry Food Bank and animals at HSKWSP.”

Humane Society CEO Victoria Baby says, “This is more than a donation, it’s a powerful investment in the future of animal welfare in our region.”

Their generosity helps us expand our impact and continue providing vital services to pets and families who need them most.”

Elmira Pet Products President and CEO Bryan Cook says by coming together for a greater cause, we elevate our community and create lasting change.
