Child sustained life-threatening injuries after getting struck by commercial motor vehicle

A four-year-old sustained serious, life-threatening injuries after a collision between the child and an unloaded commercial motor vehicle on Perth Line 56 on Friday.

Perth OPP said the vehicle struck the child, from Mornington Township, just outside of Topping around 1:30 p.m.

The child was first taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to a trauma centre for further medical treatment.

Perth Line 56 was closed for several hours but has since bene reopened.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has information, such as dashcam footage, that could assist with the ongoing investigation is asked to contact Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
