Avon River’s waters are now cleaner following a clean-up.
The Multicultural Association of Perth-Huron said during this past long weekend, Stratford city councillor Geza Wordofa led a clean-up of the river alongside association volunteers.
The aim of the clean-up was to protect the still waters from pollution to keep the city’s environment and wildlife safe.
Wordofa says “This is our city and our community—we all have a responsibility to keep it clean.”

The cleanup saw litter like coffee cups, plastic containers, and diapers removed from the riverbanks on Saturday.
