Organizers are hoping to end the Stratford Summer Music season on a high note.
Thursday is the start of the fourth and final week of the 25th season, with many performers and performances in the Festival City.
Artistic Director Mark Fewer said during the long weekend, they saw a record number of people at the MusicBarge.
“The barge wasn’t a barge anymore because of the lake draining, so our boats just nestled into the mud,” said Fewer.
“We put a stage together thanks to our friends from Here For Now theatre, and people showed up in droves to hear the Bookends on Sunday.”
He says week three saw other highlights, including the sold out Jazz All-Stars at Revival House on Friday, and Emily-Jean Flack performing at Stratford Perth Museum on Saturday.
This week there is a coffee chat with pianist Michael Kaeshammer on Thursday morning, with Kaeshammer to perform a blend of jazz, pop, and boogie-woogie that evening in the Avondale.
“Then we have three days of Barge, including the Nathan Hiltz Trio, we got some bagpipers showing up for our big finale on Sunday, and we got the Shuffle Demons with us.”
Other performers include Juno award-winning Jazz artist Diana Panton, and children’s entertainer Al Simmons.
The season will wrap up with The BoatHouse, a free event at the MusicBarge aiming to celebrate Summer Music’s 25th anniversary.
More info on these performances can be found at the Stratford Summer Music website.
