Stratford Summer Music’s 25th season will end with an outdoor show.
Entitled, Summer’s Last Sound, it’s a free concert aiming to celebrate a quarter century and offer a grand public finale to the current season.
MusicBarge at The BoatHouse at 30 York Street is the venue, Sunday at 2 p.m.
Artistic Director Mark Fewer says while holding events outdoors isn’t uncommon for them, they usually “hold a finishing concert indoors, a paid ticketed event.”
“We thought this time we would end it outdoors, this time for free, and we’re bringing back a group that is an SSM favorite in the Shuffle Demons,” said Fewer.
Fewer says over the past 25 years, organizers have used all kinds of outdoor spaces for events, including Stratford Perth Museum, an outdoor folk event with Emily Jean Flack, and the T.J. Dolan Trail.
This year’s finale will thank the community for their support.
The concert will start with a parade from the Ingersoll Piper Band, with Shuffle Demons wrapping things up.
